Introduction
In many parts of Delhi NCR, especially in settlements like Jaitpur and Kishan Colony, many children are still out of school.
Most families here depend on farming or daily wage work, which makes education difficult for many children to access.
To better understand this situation and engage children positively, Dhuri organized a
Kids Activity and Engagement Program on 4 January 2026 in Jaitpur.
What Happened?
Children from the community participated in interactive activities such as drawing, games, storytelling and group engagement sessions.
These activities were designed to build confidence, creativity and curiosity among children.
The program also helped Dhuri volunteers interact with children and understand their educational background.
Why It Matters?
During our field interactions we identified nearly
150 children in the area.
- Around 60% of them are currently not attending school.
- Many children help their parents with household or labour work.
- Some families cannot afford school-related expenses.
This situation increases the risk of long-term educational exclusion.
Our Approach
- Identify children who are currently out of school
- Engage them through weekly activity programs
- Encourage parents to support children’s education
- Plan to establish a Free Tuition Center for community children

दिल्ली-एनसीआर के कई इलाकों की तरह जैतपुर और किशन कॉलोनी में भी ऐसे कई बच्चे हैं जो आज भी स्कूल नहीं जा पा रहे हैं।
यहाँ अधिकतर परिवार किसान या दिहाड़ी मजदूर हैं, जिसके कारण कई बच्चों की पढ़ाई प्रभावित होती है।
इसी स्थिति को समझने और बच्चों को सकारात्मक गतिविधियों से जोड़ने के लिए
धुरी (Dhuri) ने 4 जनवरी 2026 को जैतपुर में
Kids Activity with Engagement Program आयोजित किया।
क्या हुआ?
कार्यक्रम के दौरान बच्चों ने कई रोचक गतिविधियों में भाग लिया जैसे —
चित्र बनाना, खेल गतिविधियाँ, कहानी सुनना और समूह आधारित गतिविधियाँ।
इन गतिविधियों का उद्देश्य बच्चों में आत्मविश्वास, रचनात्मकता और सीखने के प्रति रुचि बढ़ाना था।
